Step 1: Set-Up Google Hangouts/Meet
- Your teacher will invite you with their @musicnotesacademy.com email address. Respond to the Google Hangouts/Meet invitation from your Music Notes Academy teacher. It’s required for students and parents to accept the Hangouts/Meet invitation from Music Notes. This is how we will connect together for class time.
- Open Hangouts/Meet in a web browser or download the free app to your computer, tablet or smartphone.
- Sign-In or create an account with the email address associated with your Music Notes registration. If you’re unsure, kindly ask us.
Step 2 for Online Learning

- To be prepared and ready for your scheduled class, establish a quiet place in your home. Have your:
- Instrument
- Music Stand
- Books, Sheet Music, Learn Today, Play Tomorrow® Assignment Book
- Pencils, Sharpener
- Metronome, Tuner
Your Music Notes teacher will contact you through Hangouts/Meet at the start time of your class. Please be ready to start class and begin your musical journey with Music Notes.
Music Notes Academy is a 2012 award-winning NJSBDC community music school. Private music lessons and instruction – available for young children, adolescents and adults – are tailored towards each student within our music curriculum.
Music Notes’ curricular approach to teaching includes music reading and theory, musicianship skills, performance techniques, repertoire and songs. Students receive comprehensive music instruction from degreed and experienced music teachers. We offer structure and flexibility for our students which offers a great balance in music education.

Over the years, our piano students performed in MEA of NJ, ABRSM, MAMTG Student Music Festival and solo recitals.

Music Notes students have performed in concerts, recitals, assessments and exams. Students have won 1st Place at Festivals. Students have continued their musical journey collegiately, attending colleges and universities with scholarships.
Students travel to Music Notes from (of course East Brunswick) North Brunswick, South Brunswick, New Brunswick, Somerset, Piscataway, South Plainfield, Monmouth Junction, Monroe, Spotswood, Cranbury, Marlboro, Sayreville, South River, Old Bridge, Matawan, Manalapan, Woodbridge, Carteret, Fords, Edison and Metuchen.
Students travel to Music Notes from (of course Whitehouse Station) Bridgewater, Branchburg, Califon, Tewksbury, Chester, Bedminster, Basking Ridge, Martinsville, Readington, Flemington, Glen Gardner, Hillsborough, Clinton, Warren, Watchung, Chatham, New Providence, Morris Plains, Randolph, Far Hills, Peapack-Gladstone, East Hanover, Short Hills, Summit, Springfield, Westfield and Scotch Plains.

I wanted to share with you – Rebecca may have shared with Mr. Sean. Rebecca told me the second week of the Broadway camp they were learning music and the instructor asked a question about the key signature. Rebecca answered to their surprise and came home absolutely elated that all that music theory Mr. Sean makes her do (that she complains about) enabled her to answer!!! That is part of my deep appreciation for the quality of your school!!
