Student Registration

School Year '21-'22

If you're serious about Music Notes, please register.

Why these 5 steps to start at Music Notes? Because we like to talk with adult students and parents first. Music Notes Academy is not for everyone. Many students and parents will be a better match at other local music schools. We continue to avoid incorporating software that will allow anyone to enter their information, pay for what they want (one class or 50 classes) and then show up. We want to ensure our students and parents are serious about learning music, value the expectations we set for our students and understand what a music education entails. We want to make sure our students have an educator-approved musical instrument prior to starting classes. We want to make sure our parents understand what they’re signing-up for. Contact Us to schedule a time to talk with us.

Thank you for your interest in Music Notes Academy. Music School Online Registration is for new students, continuing students, transfer students, fineTune Private Lessons and Trial Lessons.

Online Learning

For online learning, we will introduce you to your teacher and connect you to our online platform. We will ship any music books or accessories you may need. Shipping has been between $9 and $13.

In-Person Learning

In-person learning is available at our East Brunswick Academy and Whitehouse Station location.

  • 9/22/21 — Due to Covid-19, the waiting room at East Brunswick is limited to four chairs. The waiting room at Whitehouse Station is currently closed. Parents are required to wait outside the Academy. Masks for students and teachers are required. Please speak with us regarding in-person learning and online learning.

What Students Learn with Music Notes

Music Notes students will learn how to play their musical instrument. Students will be expected to practice during the week. We as teachers will outline, describe and assign what students should focus on in between classes. We utilize our Learn Today, Play Tomorrow® Student Assignment Book. This great book helps students, parents and us to stay organized, motivated and moving forward musically. Our approach to teaching music comprehensively includes:

  • Music Reading
  • Music Theory
  • Instrument & Performance Techniques
  • Etudes, Repertoire & Songs
  • Performance Goals: Exams, Auditions, Concerts, Recitals, Festivals, etc.

Summer Nights at Music Notes is our Summer Semester. July and August. Several options to keep the music playing. Summer Music Lessons

Our students that continue their music learning and playing during Summertime have a head start in September. Students transition into the new school year more easily. We spend significant less time reviewing in September. Summertime is a great time to start playing music or continue playing music.
