Teaching at Music Notes

As teachers, we incorporate our own educational approach to Music Notes Academy’s general curriculum. Throughout the day, students can range from five to seventy-five years old. Along with what we’re teaching, we like students to be able to explore on their own. I enjoy teaching through creating. It’s an exciting, healthy challenge for me and my students.

Teaching at Music Notes

It’s been said, if you do what you love for a living, you never work a day in your life. Music Notes Academy is that place for me, it embodies that belief. That’s one of the reasons I’ve been teaching here since ’09. It’s a supportive environment, there’s no micromanaging. The passion for teaching comes from being unrestricted, to teach students accordingly. I get to witness the positive results of my efforts, whether that’s preparing students for auditions, region orchestra or band, college auditions or student performances. The enthusiasm and drive to keep playing music, creating and performing encourages me to be a better teacher each day.

-Sean Ryan, Chair of Band & Orchestra Studies

Best music school ever! You will not be disappointed. My son has been here for 5+ years and loves it, owner and teachers are the best. 100% recommended.

I just wanted to say thanks again for setting up the (online) lesson. Sean was very helpful this evening and taught some interesting beginning techniques. I enjoyed working with him and look forward to next week’s lesson!

5-Star Review

Music School

Not sure if Brielle shared the news but she auditioned on xylophone and already got the email from her teacher, she made wind ensemble honors! Thank you so much for preparing her. This meant a lot to Brielle and I haven’t seen her so happy in a long time. Next up is drumline for marching band.

Drum Lessons

I wanted to share with you – Rebecca may have shared with Mr. Sean. Rebecca told me the second week of the Broadway camp they were learning music and the instructor asked a question about the key signature. Rebecca answered to their surprise and came home absolutely elated that all that music theory Mr. Sean makes her do (that she complains about) enabled her to answer!!! That is part of my deep appreciation for the quality of your school!!
