3rd Annual Spring Student Recitals, A Great Success!

Music Notes Academy students performed on Saturday, June 6, 2009 in The Community
House's newly renovated George Burrough's Auditorium during our 3rd Annual Spring Student
Recitals. Students ranging from beginners through advanced graced the stage performing
classical, jazz, rock and popular repertoire as soloists.
Select students additionally performed duets with their teacher and our Rock Band I,
Beginner and Rock Band II, Intermediate bands performed to an exciting and welcoming
audience.
Students received acknowledgement in MNA's Concert Program and Academy Awards and
accepted their performance awards and trophies on stage.
Rock Bands Rock at Sound Check!
June 1, 2009
In preparation for our upcoming 3rd Annual Spring Student Recitals, our Rock Bands
rocked at sound check this past Saturday in Madison, NJ!
Rock Band I, Beginner includes Joseph, drums (Union, NJ), Drew, guitars (Basking Ridge,
NJ), and Christopher, bass (New Brunswick, NJ); Rock Band II, Intermediate includes
Justin, drums (Madison, NJ), Brenden, guitars (Mendham, NJ), Nick, guitars (Bridgewater,
NJ) and Christopher, bass (New Brunswick, NJ).
Students performed songs from The Beatles, Nirvana, Cream, The Romantics and Alice In
Chains and were directed by Christopher M. Stay tuned for information and registration on
next school year's bands and ensembles, rehearsals will be on Saturdays in Madison, NJ
and start Saturday, September 19, 2009.

Our 1st Annual Winter Concerts will take place on Saturday, December 19, 2009, 3:00 - 5:00 PM, in Madison, New Jersey at The Madison
Community House. Current students can look forward to information in their upcoming new school year packets, arriving in August. Our Winter
Concerts will offer students a great performance opportunity to showcase Holiday music!

Music Notes Academy is a community music school and New Jersey in-home music lesson provider. Music
lessons, available for young children, adolescents and adults, are tailored towards each student, in the
comfort and convenience of the student's home, within our comprehensive music curriculum.
Our unique curriculum includes music theory, practical musicianship skills, such as sight reading and ear
training, proper instrument techniques, classical, jazz, contemporary and popular repertoire - students will
learn songs they want learn as well. Each week, students will receive comprehensive music instruction from
our experienced and educated music instructors. Our instructors combine structure and flexibility which offers
a great balance in music education.
Students can additionally perform with our ensembles and bands, such as percussion ensembles and Rock Bands. Our ensembles and bands
perform in our annual Winter Concerts and Spring Student Recitals which commence in Madison, NJ in an auditorium on stage.

Music Notes Academy Wins Big! Rock Band IV, Advanced - Part 2 Wins 1st Place in The Battle of the Bands!

Music Notes Academy participated in Mid Atlantic Teachers Guild's Annual Spring Festival
this past March. As a school, our students performed solos, performed in student
evaluations and all of our Rock Bands competed in a Battle of the Bands, which Music
Notes Academy sponsored. Congratulations to all of our students!

Music Notes Academy's Rock Band IV, Advanced - Part 2 Records A Demo at Barber Shop Studios

On Saturday, May 22, 2010 Music Notes Academy's Rock Band IV, Advanced - Part 2 went
to Barber Shop Studios in Lake Hopatcong, NJ to record "Nothing Left To Loose", a popular
Matt Kearny song. The studio day, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 PM included recording, editing
and mixing with recording engineer and record producer Gordon Davies.
Gordon Davies has worked with Fallout Boy, O.A.R., Three Days Grace, Gavin Rossdale,
Blues Traveler, Brandford Marsalis, Mya, Busta Rhymes, Jewel, Edwin McCain and Quincy
Jones among others. Mr. Davies is a recording engineer, record producer, mixer, editor
and audio engineering instructor with over 20 years of experience.
Our Rock Band IV, included Nash (vocals, piano), Brendan (acoustic, slide guitars), Nick
(electric guitars) and was supported by additional musicians and teachers Mr. Chris M.
(bass) and Mr. Brandon Kurzawa (drums, percussion).
All of our Rock Band IV's and Original Rock Bands record a demo at the end of the school
