Music Educators Association
Piano Auditions
Called Piano Evaluations By Music Notes Academy
MEA's mission is to elevate the standards of private music teaching
in the state of New Jersey. MEA provides musical development for
all students through activities such as auditions, competitions,
recitals, scholarships and master classes given by artist teachers.
Continuing education in music and life-long learning are promoted
through monthly lectures and recitals for all MEA members.
Music Notes Academy has been an active member of MEA since
2007. Each school year select piano students participate in the
Evaluations and our students perform well and benefit greatly from
the candid feedback from MEA's adjudicators. Our participating
students receive their awards in our Spring Student Recitals.

- To encourage pupils to further their musical studies by offering them an opportunity to achieve some rewards and recognition
for their efforts;
- To assure them that their efforts will indeed offer them a richer, more meaningful activity that will prove to be of lasting
practical value as well as a cultural force in their adolescent and adult life.

Theory Test
All Music Notes Academy piano students take MEA's Theory Test
Music theory tests are beneficial for students to take since a strong theoretical foundation will help in
learning and understanding the pieces they are studying and performing. The Theory Test does not
affect the performance evaluation rating.
