Requirements For Consideration
- Two years experience teaching music, must have an understanding of curricular teaching
- Undergraduate degree in music, music education, music performance or related field
- Submit cover letter, resume/CV, salary requirements, three references
- Pass a criminal background check (to be completed by MNA)
- Submit CD or DVD of recent performance(s) (website URL is acceptable)
- Be a U.S. citizen with a valid social security number
- Positive feedback from references regarding your teaching and performance abilities
Job Description
Music lessons are instructed in the student's homes. Instructors may also teach group classes, ensembles
and/or bands at adjunct locations. Part-time position, most students are beginners however students may
be at an intermediate and advanced level. School year contractual commitment required, independent
contractor position. Music instructors need to have an appreciation and understanding of music curriculum
and instructional strategies and be responsible, personable, reliable and dedicated to teaching music.

I began working for Music Notes Academy in February of 2008. I started with one 60-minute guitar lesson in
Bridgewater, NJ. Today, I have built my teaching schedule up to almost thirty students per week, plus
ensembles, which are held in Madison, New Jersey.
I feel a certain sense of accomplishment in my job as a music instructor. It's a great feeling to be able to go
and teach students of all ages, see them progress and grow, learn new techniques and use music to either
further their music career, or just be able to enjoy music as a form of relaxation.
One of the benefits of working for Music Notes Academy is that you, the instructor, create your own teaching
schedule. Whether you want to teach one or two days a week, or you want to teach seven days a week, it's
completely up to you. Even though I teach seven days a week now, it still allows me the freedom to work on
my own projects such as producing and recording bands in my own studio. Having come from the corporate
world, I can finally say that I work full-time as a musician.
With Music Notes Academy, I feel like family. The Director, Brandon Kurzawa, treats every instructor
professionally and personally. I wake up every morning excited to go out and teach my students because I
know that my dedication and hard work is appreciated by the students, parents and Music Notes Academy.
