Our first Certificate Program will be offered in drums and percussion.
Back Beat Certificate Program™
The Curriculum
Our Certificate Program

  • Students study percussion and music within our curriculum
  • Performance in our Winter Concerts required
  • Performance in our Spring Student recitals required
  • Minimum 60-minute lessons weekly, 90-minutes may be required
  • Performance with Music Notes Academy bands or ensemble required
  • Concert Critiques: 1 MNA approved concert critique per school year
  • Performance in MNA recommended music evaluations required
  • Research project on a drummer or percussionist, 1 per school year
  • Attendance in MNA approved master class or workshop
  • Students receive our Back Beat Certificate of Music upon requirements
    completed by the last day of our academic school year
Our Back Beat Certificate Program™ was designed to offer and promote
additional efforts towards musical excellence, student achievement and
standards of recognition for our percussion students. For students who are
serious about music, or are college-bound as a music major, are encouraged to
consider our certificate program for percussion.
Prerequisites For Acceptance

Students must have studied music
with Music Notes Academy for at
least one year.

Students can inquire about
acceptance or students may be
recommended by the instructor.

_About Music Notes Academy
Music Notes Academy is a community music school and New Jersey in-home music lesson provider. Music
lessons, available for young children, adolescents and adults, are tailored towards each student, in the
comfort and convenience of the student's home, within our comprehensive music curriculum.

Our unique curriculum includes music theory, practical musicianship skills, such as sight reading and ear
training, proper instrument techniques, classical, jazz, contemporary and popular repertoire - students will
learn songs they want learn as well. Each week, students will receive comprehensive music instruction from
our experienced and educated music instructors. Our instructors combine structure and flexibility which offers
a great balance in music education.
Students can additionally perform with our ensembles and bands, such as percussion ensembles and Rock Bands. Our ensembles and bands
perform in our annual Winter Concerts and Spring Student Recitals which commence in Madison, NJ in an auditorium on stage.
